Some people have asked, "What are "tactical" kits, and what makes them different?" We wanted to answer that question as honestly as we could and how it relates to Active Carry.

     The term "tactical" is thrown around the web rather frequently, making it a useful yet sometimes confusing term. It is synonymous with military and law enforcement. We've been fortunate enough to have worked with agencies and groups in these arenas developing our kits. A lot of technology meant for these platforms trickles down to the everyday applictions. When a term becomes jargon, it sort of loses any specific meaning and becomes rather broad and all encompassing. 

     To us, tactical means "platform" or "theatre" specific, requiring contents or tools for expected occurrences or outcomes. 

      We created it as a category so those that are looking to buy for an agency, group, or a trained individual had a reference point to what is actually being used by other people responding to emergencies. These kits aren't much different than our standard: we added layers of redundancy that were 1. Specifically required items for a field medic/responder, 2. Allowed an operator to deal with multiple casualties and scenarios.

     We made these kits available to everyone, again, for two reasons. First, not all agencies and municipalities have massive budgets and buy in large amounts. We wanted to be an option for the proud men and women who serve small communities and provide them access to the same quality gear our federal agencies use.

      The second reason: through lightning fast access to information and instruction via the web, people's ability and knowledge quotient is skyrocketing. I don't believe there is an intructional video that CANNOT be found via Google/YouTube! Try it...especially related to to first aid and mitigating a trauma situation. Every component of our kit is searchable and actual applications can be watched on your mobile device. Now, this doesn't earn you a license to practice medicine or give you a cert (yet), but upping your knowledge base and having these critical tools puts you way ahead of the game.
